Jess Jones – Tattoo Apprentice & Studio Coordinator at Primal Decor

With a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from Southern Utah University, Jess Jones has always had a passion for creativity and design. Originally from Northern Nevada, Jess joined Primal Decor in 2019, applying for a front counter position, and quickly became an integral part of the shop.

In late 2023, Jess received the opportunity of a lifetime—an apprenticeship in tattooing at Primal Decor. Now, a year into their journey, they continue to refine their craft, striving to give every client a safe, clean, and informed tattooing experience. Jess is certified in Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, and First Aid, ensuring the highest safety standards for every client they work with.

Whether behind the counter, tattooing, drawing, or assisting piercing clients, Jess brings their passion and professionalism to everything they do.

Going above and Beyond

Over the years, they have mastered the ins and outs of keeping the studio running smoothly—managing inventory, overseeing decontamination procedures, and ensuring the shop has everything it needs to function efficiently for Primal Decor’s clientele. Jess also helps clients choose their next jewelry upgrade, assists with jewelry changes, and maintains studio cleanliness. Their dedication and keen eye for detail have made them an invaluable part of the Primal Decor family.

Beyond the Studio

Outside of work, Jess has become passionate about Magic: The Gathering card game. A dedicated player, they meet up with their coworker and friend, Valente, a couple of times a month to battle it out , engaging in friendly competition and strategy. Whether behind the counter, managing inventory, tattooing, drawing, or dueling in Magic, Jess brings focus, creativity, and enthusiasm to everything they do. In their downtime, they enjoy spending time with their partner, Rose, and their cat, Vladimir, embracing both artistry and balance in their personal life.
